Anthropic has released the largest qualitative AI study to date, gathering insights from 80,508 responses across 159 countries. The survey reveals that 81% of users believe AI has delivered on its promises, with time savings cited as a key benefit by 50% of respondents. The study categorizes users' visions for AI into nine types, with "Professional Excellence" being the most common at 18.8%. Concerns about AI include unreliability, job impacts, and loss of autonomy, with job-related concerns being the strongest predictor of overall sentiment. While 67% of global respondents view AI positively, regional differences are notable. Optimism is highest in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, while Western Europe, North America, and Oceania show more skepticism, largely due to economic concerns. East Asia's unique concerns focus on cognitive degradation and loss of meaning rather than governance issues.
