Anthropic published early results from multi-month research collaborations with six drug development organizations, including BigHat Biosciences, Bristol Myers Squibb, Divergence Labs, Enveda, Generate Biomedicines, and The Column Group. The company also launched its own internal drug discovery efforts.
In one notable result, six scientists at Generate Biomedicines used Claude Code to propose new designs for genetic instructions in CAR-T cell therapy. One design was approximately 70% shorter than the standard version and enabled immune cells to produce roughly 10 times as many receptors in laboratory tests, improving tumor cell killing efficiency. Anthropic said it plans to substantially expand this work.
