Anthropic, OpenAI and Google are discussing the creation of an artificial intelligence industry standards body, with talks focused on establishing an industry-led organization for technology testing and audits. The consultations began before Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called on AI companies Saturday to coordinate on testing and audits. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said at an employee meeting that he supports creating such an organization, but believes major AI labs must establish it themselves without U.S. government support. Working-group meetings among Anthropic, OpenAI and Google are continuing.
