Anthropic has overtaken the U.S. federal government to become SpaceX's largest single customer, accounting for approximately 34.5% of SpaceX's third-quarter revenue according to a filing submitted last week. The revenue stems from a compute agreement signed earlier this year, in which Anthropic uses computing resources at SpaceX's data center in Memphis, Tennessee.
Per Anthropic's IPO filing, the company agreed to spend up to $120.5 billion with SpaceX over the contract period through 2029, equivalent to roughly $3.1 billion per month starting this December. However, Anthropic retains the right to cancel the contract with 90 days' notice after January and March 2027. Neither Anthropic nor SpaceX responded to requests for comment.
