At the Finternet 2025 Asia Digital Finance Summit, George Zhou, Managing Director of Antalpha, emphasized the potential of gold real-world assets (RWA) as a leading model for asset digitization. Zhou highlighted the limitations of traditional gold trading methods, such as the lack of interest generation and liquidity issues with physical gold, and the challenges of ETFs and paper gold. He proposed that gold RWA, leveraging blockchain technology, offers a solution by enabling digital segmentation and verification of physical gold transfers, thus facilitating the transition from offline to on-chain assets and from paper to digital certificates.
