Animoca Brands has finalized its acquisition of SOMO, a company specializing in digital collectibles and gaming. SOMO's portfolio includes products like SOMO Codex, SOMO Duel, and the flagship game SOMO Battlegrounds, which aim to transform digital collectibles into assets that can be played, streamed, and traded across various games. Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, highlighted that SOMO is developing a cultural operating system for collectibles, which aligns with Animoca's existing portfolio. The acquisition will enable Animoca Brands to utilize its global network to enhance cross-platform promotion and community growth for the SOMO brand.
