American Bitcoin, a Bitcoin mining company backed by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, is set to go public on the Nasdaq in early September. The company will list under the ticker symbol ABTC following an all-stock merger with Gryphon Digital Mining. Asher Genoot, CEO of Hut 8, the largest investor in American Bitcoin, confirmed the merger is nearing completion. The new entity will retain the name "American Bitcoin," with founders Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., along with Hut 8, holding a 98% stake. The company is also exploring opportunities to acquire crypto assets in Hong Kong and Japan to expand its global presence, although no specific projects have been committed to yet. Originally a cryptocurrency mining company, Hut 8 has shifted focus towards energy infrastructure and data centers since co-founding American Bitcoin with the Trump brothers.
