Alibaba has decided to ban the use of Claude Code internally due to security concerns over potential backdoor implantation. Starting July 10, employees will be prohibited from using the software in office environments, with Qoder recommended as an alternative. This decision follows revelations that Claude Code, developed by AI startup Anthropic, could transmit user data through invisible system modifications. Anthropic has acknowledged the issue, stating it was part of an experiment to prevent unauthorized use, and plans to remove the feature in upcoming updates.
