Airwallex co-founder and CEO Jack Zhang has publicly refuted allegations from competitors suggesting that the company transfers U.S. user data to China. Zhang emphasized that Airwallex adheres strictly to global data residency and security frameworks, ensuring that U.S. customer data is stored exclusively in data centers located in the United States, the Netherlands, and Singapore. He further clarified that teams in China and Hong Kong do not have access to U.S. users' personally identifiable information (PII).
