AI startup Recursive has emerged from stealth mode, securing $650 million in funding at a $4.65 billion valuation. The funding round was led by GV and Greycroft, with contributions from AMD Ventures and Nvidia. Recursive aims to develop recursive self-improvement technology, which it believes is the fastest route to achieving superintelligence. The company plans to initially focus on AI that enhances AI capabilities, before expanding to other scientific fields. Co-founders Richard Socher and Tim Rocktäschel lead a team with experience from OpenAI, Meta, and Uber AI.
