Inferact, an AI startup founded by the team behind open-source software vLLM, has raised $150 million in a seed funding round, achieving an $800 million valuation. The financing was led by Andreessen Horowitz and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with additional investments from Sequoia Capital, Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and ZhenFund. Inferact aims to enhance the inference phase of AI, focusing on reducing operational costs and improving model stability. The project, which originated from the University of California, Berkeley, is currently managed by the PyTorch Foundation.
