The region, which includes countries like South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, is rapidly developing its digital asset ecosystem, supported by emerging regulations and stablecoin usage. Nigeria alone accounted for $92 billion of the total on-chain crypto value, highlighting its significant role in this growth. Ripple is playing a pivotal role in Africa's crypto landscape by facilitating faster and cheaper cross-border payments. Its On-Demand Liquidity system has processed over $15 billion globally, with XRP-based payment corridors expanding across 27 African countries. This expansion targets a remittance market valued at over $329 billion, offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional banking systems.
