Decentralized exchanges Aerodrome and Velodrome, operating on the Base and Optimism platforms, experienced DNS hijacking attacks on Saturday. The attacks compromised their frontends, redirecting users to phishing sites. Both exchanges confirmed that their smart contracts remain secure and advised users to access decentralized mirror sites while investigations are ongoing. This incident is reminiscent of a similar attack in November 2023, which led to losses exceeding $100,000. Dromos Labs, the parent company, plans to merge the platforms into 'Aero' and introduce a unified AERO token by Q2 2026.
