Acurast has successfully raised $11 million in a funding round to support the launch of its mobile secure computing mainnet, scheduled for November 17th. The project will also introduce its native token, ACU, on the same day. Acurast aims to provide verifiable, confidential, and tamper-proof computation on consumer smartphones, utilizing hardware key proofs to ensure only manufacturer-certified devices can connect. The network has already seen significant engagement, with nearly 150,000 phones participating, processing around 494 million transactions, and deploying approximately 94,200 services. Notable investors in this round include Ethereum co-founder and Polkadot founder Gavin Wood. Addressing security concerns, Acurast emphasized that devices with invalid certificates are unable to obtain valid proofs and are thus denied access to the network.
