DeFi protocol Abracadabra has been hacked for $1.7 million after attackers exploited vulnerabilities in its smart contract on October 4. The breach allowed the manipulation of contract variables to bypass solvency checks, according to security firm Go Security. The attackers laundered 51 ETH through Tornado Cash, while 344 ETH remains in the attacker's wallet.
The exploit targeted a flawed logic sequence in Abracadabra's cook function, enabling the draining of over 1.79 million MIM tokens across six addresses. This incident is the third major exploit against Abracadabra in less than two years, following previous losses of $6.49 million and $13 million in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
