Aave founder Stani Kulechov announced during a Q3 livestream that the upcoming "Aavenomics 3.0" tokenomics framework will include AAVE buybacks, staking, and burning mechanisms. The AAVE buyback program has been suspended since April 19, the day after the rsETH exploit incident.
Since the suspension, the Aave DAO committed 25,000 ETH to DeFi United to compensate for losses and arranged a credit line of up to 30,000 ETH provided by Mantle. Prior to the buyback pause, forum proposals suggested reducing the annual buyback budget from approximately $50 million to $30 million.
