Berger is collaborating with Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez on a more comprehensive plan to be unveiled in the coming weeks. The announcement follows a recent incident in Burgundy where a mother and her child were kidnapped, with the perpetrators demanding a €400,000 ransom. The suspects were apprehended, and the victims were safely released. France has become a hotspot for wrench attacks, with 41 incidents reported this year alone, highlighting the urgent need for government intervention.
