The U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) for January rose by 0.5% month-over-month, surpassing the forecasted 0.3% increase. This follows a revised December figure of 0.4%. On an annual basis, the PPI increased by 2.9%, exceeding the anticipated 2.6% but slightly down from the previous 3.0%. Additionally, the core PPI, which excludes food and energy, climbed by 0.8% in January, significantly above the expected 0.3% and up from a revised 0.6% in December.
