BitMine has staked $745 million in Ethereum over the past 24 hours, marking a significant move as it stakes more than half of its $12 billion ETH holdings. The company has now staked 2,582,963 ETH, valued at approximately $7.67 billion, as part of its strategy to generate yield from its Ethereum assets. This staking activity positions BitMine as one of the largest individual stakers, controlling 3.52% of the total ETH supply. Despite the aggressive staking strategy, BitMine's stock, BNMR, has faced challenges, currently trading at around $28, down 4% today and 9% for the year. The decline in stock value coincides with Ethereum's volatile performance, with ETH trading near $2,900 after a 4% drop today. However, BitMine remains optimistic about Ethereum's future, with Chairman Tom Lee expressing confidence in a market rebound, driven by developments such as Fidelity's stablecoin launch on Ethereum and the introduction of the ERC-8004 standard for AI agents.
