A Federal Reserve survey reveals that 66.3% of U.S. employees earning over $200,000 annually have used AI tools for work in the past year. This trend is also notable among those earning between $100,000 and $200,000, with 51.6% reporting AI usage, and 40.2% among those earning between $50,000 and $100,000. In contrast, only 15.9% of workers earning less than $50,000 used AI tools.
The survey also highlights educational and employment status disparities in AI adoption. College graduates are more than twice as likely to use AI tools compared to non-graduates, at 58.7% versus 22.9%. Full-time employees reported a higher usage rate of 42.7% compared to 24.7% for part-time workers. Among AI users, 68.0% found it made their work easier, and 56.7% noted increased productivity.
