A $50 million USDT poisoning attack has been reported by SpecterAnalyst, highlighting a significant security breach. The victim, identified by the address 0xcB8078…00819, initially tested a $50 transaction to the target address 0xbaf4b1aF7E3B560d937DA0458514552B6495F8b5. However, they later mistakenly copied a poisoned address, 0xBaFF2F13638C04B10F8119760B2D2aE86b08f8b5, and transferred 50 million USDT.
The stolen funds were swiftly converted from USDT to DAI and then to ETH, before being laundered through Tornado Cash, a privacy-focused service. This incident underscores the ongoing risks of address poisoning in the crypto space, where attackers manipulate transaction histories to deceive users into sending funds to malicious addresses.
