Approximately 6.26 million BTC, representing 31.2% of the total supply, currently have exposed public keys on the blockchain, according to Glassnode’s co-founder. Address reuse is the primary driver behind this exposure, accounting for 4.33 million BTC of the affected supply.
Despite the visibility of these public keys, the exposure does not enable attackers to spend or steal the associated coins. Visible public keys are a standard component of Bitcoin's cryptographic architecture and do not compromise private key security or grant unauthorized access to funds.
