South Korea's Gangnam Police Station has reported the disappearance of 22 bitcoins, valued at approximately 2.1 billion won, from their custody. These bitcoins were voluntarily submitted to the police in 2021 during an investigation. While the physical cold wallet remains intact, the assets have been transferred out, prompting an internal investigation into potential involvement. This incident was uncovered during a nationwide audit following the disclosure of a separate case involving the theft of 320 bitcoins from the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office.
