1X Technologies has launched its new-generation NEO humanoid robot hand system, boasting near-human dexterity and force control. The system features 25 degrees of freedom and a tendon-driven design with gear ratios ranging from 5:1 to 15:1. Each joint supports force control and is fully back-drivable, enhancing its dexterity. The hand includes high-resolution tactile sensors for detecting normal force, contact position, and shear force, and meets IP68 waterproof and dustproof standards.
The NEO hand's performance metrics include a thumb CMC joint peak torque of 3.5 Nm, finger MCP joints at 2.6 Nm, distal flexion force of 45 N, wrist torque of 17.75 Nm, and positioning accuracy of ±0.2 mm. It is capable of intricate tasks such as assembling LEGO bricks, picking up coins, and operating zippers. 1X Technologies has announced a production capacity of 10,000 units per year, indicating readiness for large-scale deployment.
