1789 Capital plans to invest about $300 million more in Polymarket as part of a roughly $1 billion funding round, according to people familiar with the matter cited by The Wall Street Journal. If completed, the round would value the prediction market platform at about $21 billion. 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner, has previously invested about $200 million in Polymarket. The new investment would make it one of the company’s largest investors. Polymarket’s current largest investor is Intercontinental Exchange, which previously disclosed holding shares worth $1.6 billion, or about 22% of the company’s issued shares.
