0x reported a sharp increase in malicious Uniswap v4 Hooks, which can present attractive prices during quote requests but change execution prices at settlement. The Hooks use aggregators, wallets, and trading applications to extract funds from users, with some affected trades delivering up to 50% less than the quoted amount. An analysis of 84,163 Hooks across six chains found that 19.4% were classified as safe, 54.2% as malicious, and 26.4% as suspected malicious as of September 11. Since the beginning of the year, 0x has routed 81.92 million transactions with a total trading volume of $42.67 billion, about 70% of which involved Uniswap liquidity. The aggregator said it has blocked related malicious pools from its routing through detection technology and fund pool audits.
