The Phemex Trading Showdown is the biggest prize pool in the 2026 Ultimate Championship, $6,000,000 USDT, built on a mechanic no exchange has run before. You back a national team and keep trading futures and spot the way you always have. Then your country goes on a run, and your team climbs the leaderboard right alongside it. Real football wired into real PnL, locked together for the length of the tournament.
The Cup is live now. One date matters more than anything else on this page, and it is close. Team selection locks on June 11 at 19:00 UTC, and whoever you are sitting on when that window shuts is your country for the rest of the event.
| The Country Trading Cup | |
| Prize pool | $6,000,000 USDT (70% team, 30% individual) |
| How to enter | Pick a national team, then trade futures and spot |
| Qualify for team rewards | 5,000 USDT in personal trading volume |
| Reward multiplier | 1.0x to 1.3x, set by your country's result |
| Team lock | June 11, 19:00 UTC |
How the Country Trading Cup Works
The $6,000,000 splits 70% to the Team Competition and 30% to the Individual Competition, and you land in both the moment you start trading.
Your futures and spot volume pours into your national team's total. Teams fight it out on one volume leaderboard, the Top 20 split the team pool, and your country's results on the pitch set the multiplier that decides where your team lands. Underneath all of it, your own trades put you on two individual leaderboards that pay out no matter how the team finishes.
The trades you would make anyway already count. The country pick is what turns them into a stake in the tournament.
How Team Ranking Works
Your team's rank is built from a single number, its total volume, counted as futures plus spot times 10, added up across every member who qualifies and then weighted by the team multiplier.
That word, qualifies, is doing real work. Your volume only feeds the team, and you only collect a team reward, once you have traded 5,000 USDT of your own. Stay under the line and you are invisible to the team total. Cross it and you are in for a share.
The Top 20 teams split the team pool. First place takes 20% of it, second 17%, third 15%, sliding down to 20th. Inside each team, that share gets carved up by how much volume each member brought.
The math lands harder with numbers on it. Say your team's qualifying members add up to 1,000,000 USDT in volume and you supplied 50,000 of it. You brought 5% of the team's volume, so you walk away with 5% of whatever the team earns. Push your volume higher, or join a team where you are the bigger fish, and that slice grows with you.
The Multiplier: Where Football Meets PnL
This is the part that makes the Cup unlike any trading competition before it. Your team's coefficient gets applied to its volume when the leaderboard is drawn, and it climbs with every round your country survives.
| Your Country Reaches | Reward Multiplier |
| Round of 32 (eliminated) | 1.0x |
| Round of 16 | 1.1x |
| Quarter-Finals | 1.15x |
| Semi-Finals | 1.2x |
| Final | 1.25x |
| Champion | 1.3x |
The deeper your nation goes, the higher your coefficient, and the more your team's volume counts for when it lands on the board. Ride the eventual champion and that volume hits at 1.3x, vaulting your team toward a fatter slice of the pool. Crash out early and the coefficient freezes wherever you were standing. A team that reaches the quarter-finals and then bows out keeps its 1.15x all the way to the final whistle.
This is real football plugged straight into real PnL, and no exchange has tried it. You are not trading for yourself anymore. You are trading for Brazil, or Argentina, or whichever flag you pinned your account to.
The Individual Competition (30%)
Your team can miss the Top 20 completely and you still have two ways to get paid on your own. The 30% individual pool runs across two boards.
Individual Futures PnL Leaderboard, 65% of the individual pool. The Top 100 by futures PnL split it. Your PnL is realized profit during the event, plus whatever is still open at the close, minus whatever was open when you started. Red PnL can sit on the board, but it does not pay.
Individual Spot Trading Volume Leaderboard, 35% of the individual pool. The Top 100 by spot volume split it. Watch the fine print, though. Spot volume on this board is not multiplied by 10 the way it is in the team formula.
Pick your lane. Futures traders hunt PnL while spot traders rack up volume, and if you trade hard across both, you are chasing two payouts at once.
Team Selection, and the Deadline That Matters
This is the part to move on first. You choose your country before June 11 at 19:00 UTC, and a few rules shape the window:
-
Change teams as often as you like before the deadline. When you switch, your built-up volume comes with you, so an early pick is never a cage.
-
After June 11 at 19:00 UTC, teams lock for good. No more moves.
-
After July 14 at 19:00 UTC, the door to join a team shuts, though the individual boards stay open all the way to the final.
-
Join a team before you have registered for the championship and the system signs you up for both at once.
The lock drops the same moment the early prediction stages close. Get your country sorted before 19:00 UTC and every door stays open.
Which Country Should You Pick?
Two forces decide what your pick is worth. One is the multiplier, which only pays if your country goes the distance. The other is your share inside the team, which gets bigger the more your volume stands out from everyone else who qualified.
They pull against each other. A heavyweight like Brazil or Argentina pulls in a crowd of traders, which swells the team's volume and lifts its ranking, but now you are splitting the reward with that whole crowd. A smaller nation is easier to dominate, since your 5,000-plus USDT can be a serious chunk of the qualifying total, but the team may rank lower and exit sooner, capping your multiplier where it stands.
The honest answer is to back a team you actually believe in and will actually trade for. The 1.3x only shows up if your country reaches the closing stretch, and your slice only swells if your volume is a real part of the team's total. Conviction on the pitch and volume at the keyboard are what turn this into a payout. None of this is financial advice, and every trade you make is your own call.
How the $6M Pool Grows
The full $6,000,000 is not sitting there on day one. It gets released in tiers as the whole field's volume stacks up, measured again as futures plus spot times 10. The harder everyone trades, the bigger the pot everyone is fighting over.
| Aggregate Volume Multiple | Total Prize Pool |
| 1x (floor) | $10,000 |
| 5x | $30,000 |
| 10x | $80,000 |
| 15x | $120,000 |
| 20x | $150,000 |
| 30x (baseline) | $175,000 |
| 100x | $1,500,000 |
| 200x | $3,000,000 |
| 400x (top tier) | $6,000,000 |
That top tier sits far above the baseline, which means $6M is the ceiling, not the starting line. What is actually on the table on any given day comes down to how hard the field is pushing.
What Counts as Volume
Know what feeds your numbers and you stop burning trades that do nothing.
Futures volume covers all futures and TradFi-related futures.
Spot volume covers Spot, Margin, Convert, and On-chain spot. It leaves out stablecoin pairs like USDC/USDT.
Copy trading, trading bots, and On-chain Derivatives all count, and your sub-account volume rolls up into your main account. API trades and zero-fee trades do not count, and trades riding certain vouchers or discounts can be stripped out.
Boards refresh about every 30 minutes, and the final rankings lock before July 21.
How to Get Started
Step 1: Register and clear KYC. Head to phemex.com/register and finish verification. KYC is the gate for every reward.
Step 2: Pick a team before June 11, 19:00 UTC. Choose your country on the event page, and switch as often as you want before the lock, since your volume travels with you.
Step 3: Trade futures and spot. Every qualifying trade builds your volume and your team's. Keep in mind that spot counts at 10x for the team and the pool.
Step 4: Clear 5,000 USDT in your own volume. That is the line for team rewards. Cross it and your share is locked in.
Step 5: Watch the boards. Track your team's rank, your futures PnL, and your spot volume as the tournament unfolds.
FAQ
Do I need to be a strong trader to win?
Not in every lane. The team competition and the spot board run on volume, not profit, so steady activity carries you. The futures board is the one that rewards PnL. Pick whichever fits how you trade.
What happens if my country gets knocked out early?
Your team's multiplier freezes at the highest level it reached and holds there. Your individual rewards do not budge, since they track your own futures PnL and spot volume rather than your country's result.
Can I change my team after I pick?
Yes, right up until June 11 at 19:00 UTC, and your built-up volume moves with you when you switch. After that cutoff, the team is locked for the rest of the event.
Do I need 5,000 USDT to take part at all?
No. You can trade and compete on the individual boards without it. The 5,000 USDT threshold is the line for a share of the team reward specifically.
When do rewards pay out?
Trading Showdown rewards go out after the event ends, once the boards are frozen and risk control review is done, within 15 working days.
