The YAP launcher pays people to post about the pump.fun coins it launches, and its own YAP token rose 114.5% on 28 September 2026. The token launched on Solana on 25 September, and holders of at least 50,000 YAP who join its leaderboard split its creator fees every 30 minutes by how far their posts travel.
The rise came late in the day. On GeckoTerminal's series for YAP's main PumpSwap pool, the 28 September close of $0.00281349 stood 114.53% above the 27 September close. The first 23 hours added 29.0%, and the 23:00 UTC hour alone added 66.3% on $324,406 of volume. That same day, the platform's payouts to posters ran 78.1% below their 26 September level.

What Is YAP (YAP)?
YAP runs on top of pump.fun, the Solana memecoin launchpad in our explainer on Pump.fun and its PUMP token. The YAP token itself is a standard pump.fun coin paired with SOL. What the service adds is a payroll, because the creator fees a coin earns on every trade go to the holders who post about it.
By 12:50 UTC on 29 September the site counted 111 launches, and the YAP coin accounted for about nine tenths of everything paid out. Its ledger showed 5,947 payouts to posters and 42,795 tracked posts at that read.
Kaito's former Yaps program and a 2024 Solana token called yap share the name, so this page covers the YAP crypto token at the contract above.
Why Is YAP Trending?
YAP closed 28 September at $0.00281349 on its main pool, up 114.53% from the 27 September close of $0.00131146. That was its highest close in four days of trading, and at 13:10 UTC on 29 September GeckoTerminal ranked the pool 24th of 60 on its all-network trending list.
Three quarters of that day's price gain came in its last hour. The pool ran to $0.00315 in the 12:00 UTC hour and gave nearly all of it back by the 19:00 UTC hour. It entered the final hour at $0.00169, 29.0% above the prior close. The 23:00 UTC hour then lifted it 66.3% on $324,406 of volume, about a fifth of the day's $1.69 million.
Method: every price figure above comes from GeckoTerminal's PumpSwap pool series. All 24 hourly bars of 28 September matched on reads at 12:50 and 13:16 UTC on 29 September.
The run started four days earlier. YAP's creation transaction landed at 14:05 UTC on 25 September, and the coin filled its bonding curve and moved to PumpSwap about six minutes later. On 26 September it traded as high as $0.0056093 before closing at $0.00228488, then lost 42.6% on 27 September. The 28 September close still stood 49.84% below that peak.
How Does YAP Work?
YAP's documentation says the service puts pump.fun tokens "on a payroll". A creator funds a fresh wallet with 0.05 SOL and YAP signs the launch from it. Only YAP holds that wallet's key, so the creator fees can only go where the docs say.
Holders of at least 50,000 tokens can join a coin's leaderboard, and 50,000 YAP cost about $141 at the 28 September close. Members prove an account, usually with a one-time code, and post on platforms from X and TikTok to Reddit and pump.fun itself. Views and reactions make up most of a post's score, and holding more tokens lifts it. A member who goes a day without a real post about the coin loses the spot.
Every 30 minutes on the YAP coin, the system claims the creator fees and sends 10% to YAP's treasury. The rest goes to the leaderboard by score, and no member can take more than 10% of a round. The model resembles how the UsePaid token turns creator fees into payouts. PAID routes its share to one named X account, while YAP spreads it across whoever posts.
The treasury's cut from every coin on the platform buys and burns the YAP token every 30 minutes. By 12:51 UTC on 29 September its ledger showed 188 buys costing 88.6 SOL in all, under half a SOL a run. At the $118.82 close of Phemex's SOL/USDT futures on 28 September, that's about $56 a run against the $1.69 million the main pool traded that day.
The fee itself shrinks as a coin grows. Pump.fun's fee schedule sets the creator's cut of each PumpSwap trade by market cap in SOL. It runs from 0.95% in the 420 to 1,470 SOL band down to 0.05% above 98,240 SOL. By the launchpad's formula of the token's price in SOL times one billion tokens, YAP closed 28 September near 23,700 SOL, where the creator fee is 0.60%.
In practice, the payroll follows trading volume, and the price more than doubling on 28 September didn't lift it. The site's public stats feed put platform-wide payouts on 28 September 78.1% below 26 September and about a tenth below 27 September. That ratio held on reads at 12:50 and 13:07 UTC on 29 September. Pool volume fell 78.5% over the same stretch, from $7.86 million on 26 September to $1.69 million on 28 September.
YAP Tokenomics
The canonical YAP token contract is jLz71QZfjnZZMLjUaCBw7KmUyftkkNq8NkWi2u9dyap on Solana, the Token-2022 mint that CoinGecko and the project's site both name. A Solana node read at 12:50 UTC on 29 September showed no mint or freeze authority, so no one can print more YAP or freeze a wallet. The mint's only extensions carry its name and metadata, so it charges no transfer fee and has no hook or permanent delegate.
The launch minted exactly one billion YAP, and supply read 909,638,303 at 12:50 UTC on 29 September, 9.04% lower. With no mint authority, supply only moves down through burns, which our explainer on what it means to burn cryptowalks through. The treasury's ledger accounts for about 8.15 million burned tokens by 12:51 UTC, less than a tenth of the 90.4 million gap. We found nothing on the site's home page or docs that explains the rest.
With no vesting lock, all 909.64 million tokens circulate, and at the 28 September close they came to about $2.56 million.
RugCheck's list at 12:50 UTC on 29 September put the ten largest wallets outside the pools at 22.02% of supply, with the biggest at 4.63%. The creation transaction itself carried a first buy of 34.6 million YAP, or 3.46% of the mint, for a second wallet that co-signed it. That wallet wasn't among the 20 largest holders in the same list.
Which YAP Contract Is the Real One?
The real YAP is jLz71QZfjnZZMLjUaCBw7KmUyftkkNq8NkWi2u9dyap, an address that ends in "dyap". A DexScreener search for the ticker at 13:09 UTC on 29 September returned at least 19 other YAP contracts, 18 on Solana and one on Polygon. Fifteen of them showed pools opened on or after 25 September. The 2024 Solana token called yap sits at 3gcdoCBQMKAFVopsQ377X7JhkcNPg9fwPY4eW46Apump. Another copy, 6CEzpJBVPU5JrhLyRRCGeGYKTP79rDb6zbLZ48kqvkf, opened a pool at 00:11 UTC on 29 September and held no liquidity when we checked.
How to Buy YAP Safely
Phemex lists no YAP futures contract or spot pair. Its Onchain section does carry a trading page for the canonical contract, which showed a buy panel when we loaded it at 12:57 UTC on 29 September. It trades the same on-chain token, so the checks below apply there too. Wherever you buy, our guide on how to spot a crypto rug pull before it happens covers the wider set.
Match the contract character by character across all 43 characters before you send anything, because at least 19 other contracts share the ticker.
Check the pool's depth before you size an order. At 12:50 UTC on 29 September DexScreener showed about $141,000 of liquidity in the PumpSwap pool and about $164,000 in the largest Meteora pool. All the YAP pools it lists held roughly $320,000. The PumpSwap pool had traded $1.69 million on 28 September, close to 12 times its liquidity at that read. Our explainer on what a liquidity pool is shows why a large order moves the price in a pool that size.
Know which liquidity can leave. RugCheck showed the PumpSwap pool's liquidity 100% locked on 29 September. The Meteora and Orca positions showed no lock, and together they held more than the locked pool. Their providers can pull it at any time.
What Are the Risks of YAP?
The payroll runs through X
YAP's home page says posts "are pulled from the X API, scored, and bot-filtered." X has cut that kind of access before. Our explainer on Kaito and its token release records that Kaito closed Yaps, its post-to-earn program, on 15 January 2026. X had revoked API access for apps that reward posting. YAP scores other platforms too, but its home page pitches the product around posts on X.
A $2.56 million coin on about $320,000 of pools
At the 28 September close the full supply was worth about eight times the pool liquidity DexScreener showed on 29 September. More than half of that liquidity sits in unlocked positions.
The close came from one hour
A close set in the final hour on a fifth of the day's volume says little about where buyers stood through the rest of 28 September. With four daily bars of history, YAP has no record of how it trades through a long sell-off.
Pay falls when trading falls
Posters earn from trading fees, so a slow week pays them less and gives them less reason to keep promoting the coin.
Is YAP a Good Investment?
YAP pays you nothing for holding it. The system's cash goes to people who post. The token's only link to that flow is the treasury's 10% cut, which bought and burned under half a SOL of YAP a run through 12:51 UTC on 29 September. For that buying to matter, trading across YAP's launches would have to grow far beyond its 28 September level.
The dated data shows a coin in its fourth trading day that more than doubled on one late hour. It suits you if you want a small speculative position and can afford to lose all of it. It doesn't suit you if you want income, since the payouts go only to members who post every day.

Final Thoughts
YAP sells a loop in which posting pays and fees buy the token. The 28 September bar shows the two halves of that loop running at different speeds. The price more than doubled on the strength of one late hour, while the fees that pay posters followed trading down to about a fifth of their 26 September level. A holder betting on YAP is betting on volume coming back, because volume is the only thing that fills the payroll.
