Dear Users,

To continuously enhance the stability and execution efficiency of futures trading under high-volatility and high-concurrency conditions, Phemex has completed a system-level performance optimization of its futures trading engine. This upgrade was achieved without additional hardware resources, focusing on improving overall processing capacity, response speed, and system reliability.

1. Transaction Processing Capacity Enhancement

This upgrade significantly increases the processing capacity of the futures trading system. Under the same hardware resource conditions, overall trading throughput has improved by over 60%, with network-wide processing capacity increasing from approximately 25,000 TPS to approximately 40,000 TPS.

This means that during periods of market volatility or peak trading activity, the system can simultaneously handle more order placement, cancellation, and execution requests, reducing the risk of queuing and congestion caused by excessive concurrency.

2. Latency Optimization

Funding Settlement Performance

System responsiveness at critical moments such as Funding Rate settlement has been significantly optimized.

Before the upgrade, the Funding settlement process could consume substantial engine resources within a short period. After the upgrade, overall processing time has been reduced to approximately 500ms, with request processing latency reduced by over 90%.

During the settlement period, the trading engine continues to maintain fast response times, ensuring users can perform trading operations normally at these critical moments.

3. Non-Funding Scenario Improvements

Dedicated latency optimization has been completed for high-frequency and urgent operation scenarios (such as batch order cancellation). Response latency for these operations has been significantly reduced, helping to improve the timeliness of risk control actions.

4. System Resource Efficiency

Through architecture and scheduling optimization, system resource utilization efficiency has been notably improved:

  • Trading Engine (Tengine): Daily CPU usage reduced by over 50%

  • Risk Engine: Memory consumption reduced by approximately 30%

More efficient resource utilization provides greater headroom for the system under high-load scenarios and lays the foundation for future feature expansion. Memory usage efficiency continues to be optimized.

5. Stability and Fault Tolerance Enhancements

To further improve system reliability, critical settlement processes have been redesigned to eliminate single points of failure.

Funding Rate settlement now supports multi-node triggering, preventing global settlement failures caused by a single service anomaly, effectively enhancing the system's disaster recovery capabilities and stability.

Phemex will continue to advance optimization efforts on its trading engine and system architecture — including latency control, resource scheduling, and data push efficiency — to support long-term performance improvements and sustainable platform development.

Happy Trading,

Phemex Team
