Visa has partnered with Yellow Card Financial to introduce stablecoin payments in Africa, aiming to enhance digital dollar adoption amid foreign exchange challenges. The initiative will begin in at least one country this year, with Yellow Card focusing on improving treasury operations and liquidity management. As Africa's first licensed stablecoin payments operator, Yellow Card has processed over $6 billion in transactions across 20 countries since its 2019 launch in Nigeria. Stablecoins now account for 43% of Sub-Saharan Africa's transaction volume, highlighting the region's growing integration of cryptocurrency solutions.
