Ledger has launched its Crypto Life (CL) Visa card in the U.S., offering users 1% cashback in bitcoin (BTC) or USDC on purchases. The card, facilitated by Baanx, allows direct paycheck deposits into the on-chain card account via bank transfer. This move aligns with growing trends of major card networks like Mastercard and Visa engaging with self-custodial crypto solutions and stablecoin payments. The CL Visa card will be available to U.S. users, excluding those in New York and Vermont, starting June 30, 2025. Jean-Francois Rochet from Ledger emphasized the card's benefits for bitcoin holders, while Simon Jones from Baanx highlighted its role in mainstreaming non-custodial crypto payments. Data shows household purchases make up 63% of crypto card transactions, with entertainment and fashion categories seeing significant growth.
