A New Zealand woman, Julia DeLuney, is on trial at the Wellington High Court, accused of murdering her 79-year-old mother, Helen Gregory, and staging the scene as an accidental fall. The prosecution alleges that DeLuney transferred at least 156,000 New Zealand dollars (approximately 94,000 US dollars) from her mother's account to a cryptocurrency platform in the year leading up to the incident. Of this amount, only 88,000 New Zealand dollars was recovered, resulting in a loss of 68,000 New Zealand dollars. The trial is ongoing.
