Malaysia has reported over $1.1 billion in power losses due to illegal cryptocurrency mining activities. Since 2020, authorities have uncovered 13,827 sites involved in bypassing electricity meters to power their mining operations. This large-scale electricity theft highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the country in regulating and controlling unauthorized crypto mining activities.
