The stablecoin will be integrated into HSBC's app to facilitate customer investments in tokenized assets. Gu Zhongyi, General Manager of Global Custody Products at HSBC, highlighted the bank's intention to expand its tokenized investment offerings and consider stablecoins in other currencies to enhance cross-border transfer services.
Additionally, HSBC is exploring the integration of other regulated stablecoins in Hong Kong, aiming to support the growth of the digital asset ecosystem. Gu emphasized the importance of a diversified stablecoin market for the development of Hong Kong's digital assets.
