Authorities in Hangzhou have uncovered a fraud ring targeting elementary school gamers, tricking them into transferring money under the guise of a police investigation. The scam, reported by the Hangzhou Municipal Government, involved criminals impersonating police officers and claiming that the children's game accounts in "Egg Party" were misused by criminals. Victims were coerced into transferring money, with some amounts reaching tens of thousands of yuan. The Fuyang District People's Procuratorate revealed that the gang swiftly converted the stolen funds into cryptocurrency, laundering the money through on-chain transfers. Prosecutors have issued a warning against any individuals claiming to be law enforcement and requesting money transfers to "safe accounts," urging parents to educate their children on fraud prevention.
