Decentralized identity provider cheqd has announced a partnership with The Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance to enhance identity verification for AI agents using verifiable credentials. This collaboration, revealed on Friday, addresses the growing identity challenges in the AI agent landscape, where autonomous agents are becoming more prevalent. By 2025, 25% of enterprises using generative AI are expected to employ AI agents, with projections indicating this will rise to 50% by 2027. The partnership will leverage cheqd's decentralized verification tools, including decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and verifiable credentials (VCs), within the ASI ecosystem. This integration will allow over 20 projects to issue on-chain verifiable identities for AI agents, ensuring trust and authenticity without the need for centralized authorities. The AI agent market is anticipated to grow significantly, reaching $47.1 billion by 2030.
