Japanese crypto exchange operator BACKSEAT has successfully completed its seed round of financing, raising approximately $9.69 million. The round was led by Spiral Capital and Headline Asia, with East Ventures also participating. Since its inception a year ago, BACKSEAT has accumulated a total of 1.4 billion yen in funding. The newly acquired capital will be directed towards product development, talent recruitment, and enhancing organizational structure. Earlier this year, BACKSEAT expanded its operations by acquiring all shares of the Japanese crypto exchange coinbook, forming the wholly-owned subsidiary BACKSEAT Exchange (BSE).
