Billionaire investor Tim Draper has forecasted that Bitcoin will surpass the dollar in dominance within the next five years. Draper, a prominent venture capitalist and Bitcoin advocate, expressed his views in a recent post, highlighting Bitcoin's growing market share and the migration of innovations to its platform. He likened this transition to Microsoft's historical dominance in operating systems. Draper pointed to key applications being developed on Bitcoin, including decentralized finance (DeFi), smart contracts, Ordinals, Runes, and layer 2 solutions, suggesting Bitcoin's potential to become 'infinite' against the inflating dollar. Despite these advancements, Ethereum continues to lead as the largest smart contract platform, boasting over $61 billion in total value locked. Bitcoin, meanwhile, maintains its role as a store of value and a digital currency for transactions. At the time of reporting, Bitcoin was trading at $107,888.62, marking a 1.26% increase over the past 24 hours.
